Formulation of a Combined Transportation and Inventory Optimization Model with Multiple Time Periods

Most distribution network design models existing in the literature have focused on minimizing the costs of inventory and transportation. During the analysis of supply chain of currency management problem it is observed that the transportation of currency from various sources to various destinations and the required inventory to be maintained to meet the emerging demands requires formulation of a combined problem. This framework aims to support the coordination of inventory and transportation activities to properly manage the inventory profiles and currency flows between source locations and distribution centers. This paper considers a multi-period inventory and transportation model for a single commodity. The key contribution of this paper is, a mathematical programming formulation of transportation cum inventory problem is proposed and an algorithm for this new formulation as a multi period decision process is intended. A numerical example of currency transportation cum inventory is presented to illustrate the proposed algorithm.

Comparative Efficacy of Reduced-risk pesticides, Entomopathogenic Fungus and Botanical for Red Spider Mite Management

Tetranychus macfarlanei Baker & Pritchard, a serious phytophagous pest of many crops with economic importance. In this study, the effects of six reduced risk pesticides viz. abamectin, bifenthrin, bifenazate, etoxazole, hexythiazox, and spinosad with various mode of action, entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana and botanical neem oil were evaluated against adult and egg stages of T. macfarlanei under laboratory conditions. The mortality of adult female and eggs of T. macfarlanei in all chemicals are dose dependent. The response of adult female against different pesticides between observed and expected values were closely fitted. The LC50 values of all chemicals except spinosad were effective against eggs and all chemicals except etoxazole were effective against adult females of the T. macfarlanei. Although dyslexia is one of the learning difficulties frequently encountered among children, it may not be fully understood by educators and families due to lack of knowledge. This situation causes children with dyslexia to experience significant problems due to the difficulties they experience. For this reason, understanding and early diagnosis of dyslexia is of great importance. In recent years, with the emergence of awareness about dyslexia, studies to understand this learning disability are increasing. In this study, which was designed based on qualitative research methods, a literature review was conducted in order to reveal the processes of dyslexia children's social experiences, and the scenes in the movie "Stars on the Ground" (Taare Zameen Par), which is effective in the recognition of dyslexia, were interpreted with the method of descriptive content analysis in line with the data obtained from the literature. In this context, it has been discussed whether the scene analyzes support the information obtained from the literature. In the results of the study, it is confirmed by the information obtained from the literature that children with learning difficulties go through psychologically challenging processes in the society and in their education life, but they can be happy and successful with the right approach. It is thought that the results obtained serve scientific knowledge and can be used as supplementary material.
