7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (2024)

If you have Faith, you will naturally gravitate towards Holy Weapons in Elden Ring. The believer inside you demands the golden luster of these weapons. Puns aside, Holy weapons are some of the best and most unique options in this game, and with the Shadow of the Erdtree, this weapon category just got a bit more attractive (You’ll see later).

7) Siluria’s Tree

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (1)

Siluria’s Tree is a fantastic Great Spear that scales well with both Strength and Faith, though it tends to lean slightly more towards STR. As a great spear, it offers an impressive move set with strong poking attacks that can deal significant damage and break enemy stances.

Unlike most great spears, which often stick to repetitive poking attacks, Siluria’s Tree stands out by including a horizontal swipe for its heavy attack. This is incredibly useful when facing multiple enemies or those slim foes that are usually tougher to hit.

The follow-up heavy attack also comes out fast, making it a reliable way to dish out decent stance damage without leaving you too vulnerable.

The highlight of this weapon is its weapon skill, Siluria’s Woe. For just 25 FP, it unleashes a short-range AOE attack that inflicts about 27 stance damage. Since this scales with your attack rating (AR), investing in either Strength or Faith will increase its damage output.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (2)

Depending on the talismans you’re using, a charged heavy attack might deal more stance damage and raw damage than this quick AOE. But here’s the real kicker, fully chargingSiluria’s Woe transforms it into a projectile attack.

Its true power lies in the projectile range and travel speed, and pairing it withGodfrey Iconcan dramatically boost its damage.

One of the most underrated aspects of the projectile is its wide hitbox. This makes it harder for dodging enemies to escape, and smaller enemies will likely get knocked back. The longer animation is a bit concerning. There’s always a risk of getting interrupted during the cast.

You’ll not want to rely on the skill in every scenario. However, this skill’s AR scales with STR, which means you can invest heavily in Strength and still have a solid, high-damage projectile option, which is rare for Strength builds. Even though the skill is somewhat situational, I’d still rate it as a top-tier choice.

6) Black Knife

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (3)

The Black Knife stands out in the otherwise underwhelming dagger category for two reasons. First, its heavy attack delivers a nice double swipe that deals solid damage, especially when paired with multi-hit talismans like the Rotten Winged Sword Insigniaand charged heavy attack talismans likethe Axe Talisman, which add more stance damage compared to regular light attacks.

It comes out fast, and with the weapon’s decent scaling in Dexterity and Faith, you can deal a surprisingly high amount of damage. Plus, since it’s a dagger with 110 Crit, if you manage to break an enemy’s stance(thanks to the quick, heavy attack), you can land some devastating critical hits.

The real star of the Black Knife is its skill, Blade of Death. For just 25 FP, it fires a horizontal high-damage projectile, making it great for hitting enemies that try to dodge. This projectile also applies the Destined Death effect, which reduces enemies’ max HP by 10% and deals percentage-based damage over time.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (4)

While it doesn’t hit as many times as the similar Maliketh’s Black Blade, the Black Knife is better because it’s cheaper at only 25 FP, has better range, and is easier to use.

You can back off and spam the skill from a distance, taking full advantage of its airborne hyper armor. Once you fire off the skill, you’re unlikely to be staggered out of it, so you can trade hits while mid-skill.

Projectile skills are always better. In boss fights, for example, when an enemy distances, you can launch the projectile and deal solid damage.

Even if you don’t want to use the Black Knife as your primary weapon, it’s a fantastic secondary option for Faith builds. You can keep it in your back pocket and spam it against high-HP enemies, easily whittling them down.

5) Marika’s Hammer

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (5)

Marika’s Hammer offers solid scaling with both Strength and Faith, though it leans more toward strength, resulting in greater physical damage than holy damage.

You should rely on charged heavy attacks with this weapon because they deal more stance damage than even colossal swords. Unfortunately, the light attacks are slower, don’t stagger enemies very well, and lack speed.

Of course, its Gold Breaker skill is its savior. For just 26 FP, you leap into the air, gaining infinite hyper armor, meaning nothing will stagger you out of mid-skill. After the jump, you slam down with a powerful AOE attack that deals bonker damage. The skill scales with your AR, so you can still maximize the damage output if you go all-in on STR.

Smaller enemies will fly by the impact, often resulting in an infinite stun lock where you can keep spamming the skill and quickly clear rooms.Even in boss fights, Its hyper armor means you can take on attacks without flinching and deliver devastating damage.

If you land a direct hit with both the hammer and the AOE at close range, you can push upwards of 42 stance damage, which is impressive for just 26 FP. The skill also has some tracking ability midair, allowing you to land on your foes consistently.

4) Coded Sword

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (7)

The Coded Sword is a pure holy-damage Straight Sword with exclusive Faith requirements and scaling, making it an excellent option for pure Faith builds. While its total AR is on the lower side compared to other weapons, it compensates by dealing 100% holy damage with no split damage, which can be unique.

As a straight sword, it also has a reliable move set. If you fetch a secondCoded Swordor use a sacred-affinity straight sword in your off-hand, you can power-stance them for one of the best power-stance movesets in the game.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (8)

Again, its prowess lies in its skill, Unblockable Blade. For just 18 FP, you perform the widest horizontal slash, about three times the normal reach of the weapon. The skill does shocking damage, staggers enemies easily, and deals 35-stance damage, which is ridiculous in itself.

It covers such a large area and is easy to spam, making it an excellent option for clearing groups of enemies. If you are surrounded, just spam Unblockable Blade and watch as everything gets obliterated.

It’s also highly effective against bosses. Spamming the skill can quickly break their stance and leave them vulnerable. Overall, the Coded Sword is an insanely underrated weapon that’s powerful and easy to build around for faith-focused characters. If you’re running a faith build, this weapon should definitely be on your radar.

3) Sacred Relic Sword

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (9)

Many players see the Sacred Relic Sword as just a tool for Rune farming, mainly because of how flawlessly its skill, Wave of Light, wipes out all the Albinaurics in the Mohgwyn Palace. But this weapon is so much more than that, it can shred through the entire game.

Pull up to any camp full of enemies, use its skill, and watch them all drop. If they don’t die outright, they’ll be knocked down and heavily damaged. The fact that the skill has such a wide horizontal spread and travels so far makes it almost impossible to miss, making it one of the best crowd-control holy weapons in Elden Ring.

Even in boss fights, the weapon holds its own. Its skill deals decent damage, and if you can create some distance, you can spam it from across the arena. Most enemies won’t be able to dodge it either. NPC bosses like Dancer of Ranah can be cheesed out of existence using this weapon.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (10)

The main downside is its high FP cost of 42, but it’s worth it. If you plan to build around the skill, I recommend using the Carian Filigreed Crest to reduce FP costs. It also consumes a lot of stamina, so spamming it in boss fights can be tricky, but with good management, it’s still very viable.

On top of that, this weapon deals primarily physical damage, and it has 110 Crit damage. Against enemies with high holy resistance, you can rely on charged heavy attacks to break their stance, land a critical hit, and deal massive damage.

Plus, it’s a greatsword, so it naturally has a solid moveset with the most range of all the greatswords in the game. By focusing on Dexterity and Faith, spamming the skill when possible, and proccing stance breaks, you’ll have a mighty and cheesy build that can handle almost anything.

2) Euporia

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (11)

Euporia is a new Twinblade from Shadow of the Erdtree, and it’s likely a pure faith-based weapon, as its strength and dexterity scaling isn’t very impressive. However, it has the potential to be the highest-damaging twinblade in the game if you build up its damage stacks.

These stacks are gained simply by hitting enemies with the weapon. You can perform a charged heavy attack to gain one stack (or three light attacks) and another charged heavy attack to earn a second.

With these stacks, you’ll add around 130 extra holy damage, so pairing charged heavy attacks with multi-hit talismans, like Millicent’s Prosthesis, can lead to unprecedented damage.

The real highlight is its skill, Euporia Vortex. For 28 FP, you unleash a short-range spinning attack. However, the skill transforms into a holy beam attack once the weapon is buffed with the damage stacks.

Initially, the skill’s damage is the same as when uncharged, but it can now hit from further away. When the weapon is fully charged, though, the skill lasts much longer and can deal up to three times the damage, with roughly 60 stance damage if you hit at point-blank range. The melting potential is through the roof.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (12)

One of the most underrated features of this weapon is how long the buff lasts, over 7 minutes in some cases. You can easily gain the buff stacks in a legacy dungeon, then head into a boss fight and lead with the skill for some serious damage.

That said, the weapon does have a few drawbacks. As a twinblade, its stance damage is generally low, and the longer attack animations can leave you vulnerable to being staggered. Since most of the weapon’s damage comes from the final hit of its swings, getting interrupted means missing out on a significant chunk of damage.

Additionally, Euporia Vortex doesn’t grant any hyper armor, so you can be staggered out of the attack. It’s harder to land hits against faster, more mobile enemies since you can’t aim while the skill is active.

Despite these downsides, Euporia is a fantastic option, particularly where you can exploit its insane damage potential. It might be more situational than other weapons, but when used effectively, it’s easily an S-tier choice in Elden Ring.

I know, this weapon is super complex. Here is a video to make you understand better.

1) Ordovis’s Greatsword

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (13)

Ordovis’s Greatsword is arguably one of the best stance-breaking weapons in Elden Ring. It’s a greatsword that excels with high Strength scaling and decent Faith scaling, making it a fantastic choice for STR/FAI builds.

While it has the standard yet reliable greatsword move set, the real power lies in its skill, Ordovis’s Vortex. For just 15 FP, you perform a quick, short-range AOE attack that staggers enemies and deals 19 stance damage. But the real magic happens when you fully charge it.

When fully charged, the skill is a beast. Not only does it deal tremendous damage, but it also hits multiple times, knocking smaller enemies flat and delivering a staggering 66-stance damage.

That’s an impressively high number since many tough enemies like Omens and large knights have 65 poise. You can stance-break them with a single charged attack, leaving them wide open for critical hits.

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (14)

In the current meta, stance-breaking builds have climbed up the ladder with the Blade of Mercy talisman from Shadow of the Erdtree. Pairing these two things and the weapon’s ability to break enemy poise quickly translates to 20% more damage all the time.

The skill also scales with your AR, so focusing on strength will maximize its damage. Once you hit the two-handed strength soft cap, you can dump points into Faith for other benefits like synergizing with Clawmark Seal for your incantation needs.

Speaking of synergy, the Stonebarb Cracked Tear can push the stance damage even further, potentially exceeding 80 stance damage. This alone can trivialize fights against Elden Ring’s toughest bosses, including Malenia.

To top it off, it has decent hyper armor, too, meaning you won’t be staggered out of this skill. For just 15 FP, it’s almost unbelievable how much damage and utility you get.

Although it lacks the safety of ranged skill/attacks, the stance-breaking potential of this weapon is unmatched, thus dominating anyone who dares to stand in your way.

Honorable Mentions

7 Best Holy Weapons in Elden Ring (Ranked) - Game Voyagers (15)

Here are some holy weapons in Elden Ring that barely made the cut but are still worthy:

  • Maliketh’s Black Blade: Applies the same Destined Death effect as Black Knife but in an AOE with hyper armor. Helpful in facing bosses in New Game+.
  • Envoy’s Greathorn: A colossal weapon with high damage negation, guard counter, and stance damage. The skill is a tracking projectile that explodes upon impact in an AOE and can even be used to snipe.
  • Halo Scythe: The skill is a cheap, quick-firing, high-damage projectile that can be spammed consistently.
  • Black Steel Greathammer: This is one of the best weapons for crafting a guard counter build. The guard counter results in a holy AOE slam. And if you pull it off, you are looking at astronomical stance damage.
  • Black Steel Twinblade: Works really well powerstancing with Euporia, especially when using the jumping attack. You can change its affinity. It receives bonus damage when buffed with Holy like Sacred Blade.

Holy weapons cover a lot of bases in Elden Ring. AOE, ranged, stance-break, unique special effects, and so much more. These unassuming weapons will surely make you a believer in Faith if you haven’t been one.
